Oh, wow, I know what you mean. I wasn’t able to go to the funeral on the weekend. I had to give a talk at a girls’ club that morning, but I think it was Providential, because I’m not sure if I could have handled it.
Have you ever read Emily of New Moon, by L.M. Montgomery? It’s a very moving account of a young girl losing a very sweet and loving father. It always made me cry, as I was missing my Dad, not because of death but divorce.
I haven’t read the book, and am looking it up now. Divorce certainly has a significant impact on children that is so similar to death on several levels. So sad you had to experience that when you were little. I believe my dad is always watching over me … protecting me. You have someone watching over you, too, which may be why you weren’t able to attend the funeral. ❤️
Thanks, Joan, yes, I feel that very much. Certainly I am being cared for. The burdens of life are not to be borne alone. To know we have a Father God who loves us, and that we remain always connected to our family in Heaven is a great comfort.
Sorry also for your loss, and I’m glad you feel close to him always. Love is stronger than death.

I’m sure it has. I lost my dad when I was young and I still struggle when I attend a funeral, even if it’s someone I didn’t know. ❤️
