This beautiful sky with its wispy clouds being swept along the sky struck me today as I waited for the bus with the kids. It was frosty, clear and bright.
My sister sent me a link to a wonderful idea: to take a picture every day of something I’m grateful for, and to share it. The idea is that the more you look for things to be grateful for, the more you’ll find, and the happier you’ll be. I think it’s worth a shot! Let’s grab our cameras and look for beauty…I bet it’s right under our noses if we just slow down and take time to notice it.
The gratitude list works, I know––but adding a photo, yes! A picture calendar of gratitude. Beautiful!!

I read the same idea from a book called “one thousand gifts” by ann voskamp. The author was challenged to write a list of 1,000 things to be grateful for. She took pictures, too. ie. a pile of grated cheese on a plate. It works.

Thanks for your comment, Brenda. It’s so true that the more we appreciate the little things, the happier we are. Today I got to have a nice snuggle with my kids while we watched a movie, and that peaceful moment brought such contentment.
